ongoing work
I currently work at the Bridgepoint Science of Care Institute, part of the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, Sinai Health, with the Subject Matter Health Research Lab.
Our lab focuses on health services research, complex health conditions, and mental health.
CHRONIC PAIN & DEPRESSION
I coordinated a CIHR-funded clinical trial investigating non-pharmacological interventions for depression in people with chronic pain. We are currently developing the manuscript for publication.
Our team recently published a paper investigating how often people with depression are excluded from studies that are investigating chronic pain.
OPIOID THERAPY DURING MAJOR DEPRESSIONS OF CARE
In 2022 we published a paper on opioid agonist (or substitution) therapy during major disruptions to care (e.g. natural disasters). We reported on healthcare provider and patient perspectives that can help to inform disaster planning in contexts like the COVID-19 pandemic.

past work
My undergraduate studies focused on neuroscience, psychology, and mental health, which drives most of the work that I do now.
In graduate school, I conducted research at the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto studying walking ability in people after stroke.
WALK TEST PROTOCOLS
The 10-metre walk test (10mWT) and 6-minute walk test (6MWT) are often used to evaluate how well someone can walk as they recover from stroke. To properly measure changes in walking ability, these tests need standard instructions and set-up. My masters thesis evaluated how well and consistent these tests worked.
