Hello! I’m Darren
I’m a healthcare scientist by training and creative at heart, working at the intersection of design and research.
With my background in academia, I bring a unique perspective to problem-solving for human challenges in the world of service design.
the research journey
I have over 8 years of clinical research experience.
I’ve worked closely with people - patients - to study healthcare for those living with complex conditions.
From grant-writing and ethics board applications, to participant recruitment and manuscript publication, I am deeply familiar with every grueling phase of the academic research process.
I love chatting about my research - send me a message!
the design path
In service design, I bridge the gap between research and human-centred design. I’m able to align key skills from academia - navigating ambiguous inputs, synthesizing insights, and crafting cohesive narratives, with design-thinking and strategy to shape project direction.
At Bridgeable, I worked closely with world-leading healthcare organizations to improve health services around the world.
Currently, I work on a Federal project at Accenture Song Canada.
the things along the way
I spend a lot of my free time rock climbing and knitting, but my list of activities and creative outlets is long and constantly growing.
I love trying new things and developing skills in different spaces. I’m on a mission to dabble in every hobby that enters my orbit. Most recently, I’ve picked up wheel-thrown pottery.
